Out Of The Blue

FRIDAY. Balloon Fiesta! The neighbors saw me snapping photos this morning and told me to "save my film" for tomorrow morning, when 700 balloons will lift off from Balloon Fiesta Park and pass directly overhead. We were assured spectacular balloon views from our own back yard. Living in the North Valley apparently has its advantages.

This morning's tasty appetizer was the Balloon Fiesta kick-off event, "Albuquerque Aloft." Launch sites were various schools in Albuquerque and Rio Rancho, including the school only a few blocks away, providing us with splendid closeup views of colorful balloons.

Murphy always senses our excitement. This morning he raced around the house and yard, occasionally barking, resonating with our delight in seeing (and hearing) balloons overhead. This promises to be a spectacular weekend. Let's hope the weather cooperates.
